Now that you have successfully found the 9-digit numbered folder, in it is a folder named ‘player.vimeo.com’. All you have to do in this step is to expand the 9-digit folder, expand the ‘player.vimeo.com’ folder and finally open the ‘video’ folder to reveal another file which contains all the video download links.
Save the Vimeo file as .txt
The next step is to Right-click on the file inside the ‘video’ folder and select “Save as…”.
This file contains all the video download links as said in the previous step. Save the file as a “.txt” file so that your text editor can read it. I prefer using Notepad and for that I used it in this tutorial, you can use your favorite text editor.
Open the .txt file Downloaded above in your text editor preferably Notepad and then proceed to the next step.
Search and find the hidden Vimeo video URL
Now that we have opened our Vimeo video.txt file in a text editor, It is finally time to search and find the private Vimeo video URL hidden inside this text file. To find this hidden URL, I recommend you use the search function in order to speed up the whole process.
Simply Press CMD+F for the search box to pop out.
Search for your desired video quality
Type your desired video quality in the search box and search. This will highlight all the URLs containing the search term. So all you have to do is to find the URL ending with .mp4, select it and copy it.
When you have copied the URL ending with .mp4 (make sure it is the one that contains your desired video quality since there will be other URLs with different video quality there), you can now proceed to the next step.
Save your private Vimeo video
After you have copied the .mp4 url successfully, paste it in your browser, press enter and allow the Vimeo video to load.
Let the video play for 2-3 seconds and then right-click on the video and select “Save video as…”.
You can thereafter rename the video and hit the “Save” button to start the download.
Immediately the private Vimeo video will start downloading and it will be saved to your default download folder.
